Here we are at 10 weeks since our final home study visit, and now we have a ton to do again. Just to catch you up: After our last home study visit our case worker put our home study aside to work on things in the office that needed to be done immediately. Well now 9 weeks later, she has picked up our home study to finish, and has found a lot of missing pieces. I don't know why this is. I know one of the things she is requesting, I did hand in already. Another form she needs is because of a new "rule" or a "law" change. Other forms are things she could have asked for a long time ago, but never looked at our case close enough to realize she needed them! All of this is very frustrating to me. This is all stuff I could have taken care of in the last nine weeks. During the time that I had a lot more days off, and a lot more time on my hands. Now here I am working all five days a week, and trying to get into school, and now she wants me to track down paper work and such. I have had to ask my boss for a half day off this week, so I can get some of this done. I hate to do it, but I was getting really stressed out just trying to handle it all over the phone. I hope to tackle a lot of it tomorrow morning. I will keep you up to date on that.
As I said I am/was trying to get back into school. I have spent much of the last two weeks trying to get into school for the fall. It does not seem that it is going to work for this fall. I found out that in the time I was not in school over the last year there was some confusion about my financial aid. It seems one of the banks that I had a loan with thought that I had graduated, and since I had "graduated", yet I was not paying on my loans, they say I can not get a new loan until I start paying off the other. It's all so confusing to me and a big mess. I ended up setting up a payment plan. I told Joe if I am this stressed out trying to finish up the adoption paperwork, working 49 hours a week, and TRYING to get into school, then maybe I better not go this fall anyways.
My commitment right now is trying to work on the adoption paperwork, and trying to get my basement in order. I really want to get rid of a lot more stuff. I have stuff to sell, or donate, as well as some stuff I am sure I can throw away. Either way it all needs to be gone through and cleaned out. I hope to get alt east 3 hours a week to work on that.

9 weeks, and we got an email.
It's been nine weeks since our last home study visit, and we got an email from our case worker today. I did call her at the office yesterday, but she didn't answer. I didn't leave a message because I thought I would just email her instead. I wrote out the email, but then saved it as a draft to send later. Turns out I won't need to send it now. <------(Written a week ago)
She emailed me because she is working on our home study and is missing or needs 7 things from us. Three of the things were just explanations to things. For example, on my medical release my doctor wrote that he prescribes medication for me, but didn't write what it was. So I needed to let her know. It's just a mild pain killer for my cramps.
The other four things are missing forms. Like Baxter's vaccination, because we got him after I turned in all of our paperwork.
I am glad she wrote us before I got a hold of her again. I am trying my hardest not to call her every month. It's just so hard not to wonder about things when we don't hear from her for awhile.
So I emailed her back and asked her a few questions as well. When I get the forms completed that she needs I will be turning those in along with our book. Then we really will have nothing else to do, but wait. Oh boy!

So that's what two months feels like!
It's been two months, or 8 weeks, since our final homesudy visit. It's gone fast, but then, summer always goes fast! Sadly, I know that we have not been shown to any birth moms! I know because I have not handed in my scrapbook yet. I am sure you are wondering why I have not. There are a couple of reasons. One is that I don't have it done. I know that's crazy, but I have just a couple of things to finish in it. Reason number two is that, our agency does not tell you when you are being shown. So my thinking is that if I have my book still, then they will have to call me to show it. And that would be my way of knowing when the first time we are shown would be. Sneaky huh? Joe's theory is: If they have our book, they might show it faster. Either way, I will turn it in soon!
On a side note: I saw the saddest thing last Saturday night. We went to the movies with a group of friends, and as we were leaving we saw a couple in the last row sleeping. We were cracking up because they were the last ones in there when the movie was over and they were sound asleep. As we were saying our good byes in the lobby the couple passed us in the mall. We laughed again until we all realized what was going on. They were not sleeping they were passed out! They were stumbling all over the place as they left, and the guy was slurring about something. The saddest part was that the young girl was pregnant. Not just pregnant, but she looked to be due any minute. I said I wished I had a card to give her. But what would that card say? "I would love to have your baby.....call me". But really, what do you do in a situation like that? I said/did nothing. But I did think about all the next day, and I am still thinking about it now. Sad!
As we hit the two month mark I feel a little sad. The closer it gets to Christmas, the less hope I have that we will have a baby by then. I know a lot can change in the next 4 and a half months, but it just feel like something would or should have happened by now. I guess I am just being impatient. It's just so hard! Wish us luck!
