Our Adoption Adventure: Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

We are so excited to see what 2010 will bring.

I know this is a day late, but I guess when you have a newborn in the house everything tends to run behind!

Our Adoption Time Line

December 10th 2008: We both agreed that we wanted to adopt.

December 21st 2008: I picked our agency.

January: I got an invite to an orientation.

January 20th 2009: We had our orientation.

February 6th 2009: We sent in our pre-application.

February 10th 2009: We got our big packet in the mail. It’s the full application.

March: We took our four weeks of education classes.

April: We filled out all of our paper work, got our fingerprints done, as well as our medical statements, and we handed in our all of our paperwork.

May: Our reference letters went out, and came back in and we set up our four meeting times for our home study.

May 26th 2009 : Home Study Visit number 1, both of us in the office.

June 1st 2009: Home Study Visit number 2, Joe in the office.

June 2nd 2009: Home Study Visit number 3, Jenn in the office.

June 18th 2009: Home Study Visit number 4, both of us at our house.

September 2009: Second set, of added, paperwork turned in.

October 2nd 2009: I turned in our scrapbook.

October 3rd 2009: We got our completed home study report back.

October 26th 2009: We got The Call, we had a match!

October 29th 2009: First birth mother meeting (find out the sex of the baby)

October 30th 2009: First phone call with birth mom

November 5th 2009: First doctors appointment with birth mom

November 10th 2009: Second appointment with birth mom (ultra sound)

December 14th 2009: Met Birth-mom at the hospital.

December 15th 2009: 2:34 am Alexander was born.

December 17th 2009: 7pm got home with Alex.
