Just when I thought I couldn't take anymore!

Just when I thought I'd had enough, things take a turn for the better!  Yep, that's right.....I said BETTER!

I guess I should start with the bad.  Last week we were turned down for child care for the foster kids, and our case was closed.  They claimed to have never gotten our proof of employment. On top of that they tried to claim that being a nanny is not a "real" job, and I can just bring the foster kids to work with me!  After calling the DHS case worker 3 times, she finally called me back and said she was sorry, but there was nothing she could do, and that I would need to start over, by coming in to fill out a new application.  Not ten minutes later I got a call from our day care saying that they received a letter saying the kids had been denied, and so they could not return until we paid off our bill of, close to, $1500!  After spending a day and a half on the phone with our social worker, our daycare, and the case worker at DHS I got nowhere, and I was left to stress about it all weekend.

This morning I had no choose, but to bring all 3 of my kids to work with me while I cared for 3 other kids.  By 1pm nothing had come of the child care situation, and it was starting to look hopeless.  They were saying I needed to file a hearing, and I just don't have time for things like that!!!  Then I got a call from our new case worker at DHS and she informed me that it had all been worked out.  She also said she would call our daycare and inform them that the kids are all set to return tomorrow. I thanked her VERY much.  I also called and thanked our social worker for all her hard work.

I feel like 100 pounds have been lifted off my chest!  It is hard work taking care of a 1 year old, 2 two year olds, a 4 year old, a 5 year old, and a 7 year old, for 9.5 hours a day in someone else's home.  They play really well together, and the kids I nanny loved getting to see the kids again today, but it is not something I can do everyday!

Aside from all of that drama we had a wonderful weekend with the kids.
