15 weeks.

Written Monday morning: We should be all set for our home study now. Joe turned in the last of the paper work this morning. I hope she emails us with an update, and lets us know when we should get a copy of our completed home study. I am not sure how that works, or what our social worker does with it after she writes it. I could just call her or email her, but I really don't want to seem impatient. It feels like such a fine line, of how often to call or email. At our last visit I asked how often we would hear from her, and she said she tries to send out a "newsletter" about once a month. We have not gotten one and it's been more then 3 months!

Written Monday afternoon: Well, I went ahead and emailed our social worker. I think every time I write in my blog about calling or emailing her, I ended up calling or emailing her, before I even publish the post I am working on! lol I'm a nut! I just wanted to give her the heads up that Joe dropped the form off at the front desk, and for her to watch for it. She has warned me about the front desk before. And from what I have seen when I have been in there, they have new people in the front all the time. I just wanted to make sure she got it. I also asked a couple of the questions I was wondering about. Now I just wait and stalk my email!

Written Tuesday afternoon: Argggg I wish she would write me back, or call. I really want to know how the home study works from here, and when we should have our copy. I am also dieing to get an answer to my other questions. I still keep checking my email, at least once an hour, and it's killing me when there is no email from her!

Written Wednesday morning: She still has not written me back. I wonder what is taking so long? I know she was in the office yesterday. I called the office to see if her voicemail would say she was out, and it didn't. It said she would be in the office this week. This also worries me, because I did not make a copy of the form Joe brought in to her. If it gets lost, we are going to have to go back to the doctor again! I hope she emails me back some time today.

It's now Wednesday afternoon and she has written me back! I thought she might be waiting until she had finished our report, and I think I was right. She said that it is done and that she turned it in to her supervisor. When it is done being checked, we will get a copy and we will sign a form saying that the information can be shared with any potential birth moms.
She also said that they still only have a "few" families in the pool, and that she don't know of any birth moms that will be looking at any profiles soon. So I guess it doesn't matter when I get my book in, but I will still be bringing it to her on Friday.

I told Joe last night that I feel like I need to start working on the spare room. There is a lot that I want to do before we get the call. I am not talking about setting it up, but more like prepping it. I would love to have the carpet professionally cleaned, which we have not done since we bought the house 4 years ago. My plan is to keep the boys (our dogs) out of that room after we have it cleaned, and at this time that is where their cages are. I told Joe I don't mind if they go in there just to go in their cage. I just don't want to them playing in there, and getting hair all over. I also want to repaint in there. We painted it about 2 years ago, and it is do for a new coat. Plus I want it to be a tad lighter, than the bright yellow that it is now. My other plan is to put up some selves. I want them to run from one window, around the room to the closet, and from the other side of the closet, to the door. I saw them do this in a kids room on a catalog a few years ago, and I just loved the idea. Sadly I can not find that picture, but I hope my dad and I can come up with something that will work. I was thinking about painting this weekend, since I have four days off, but Joe wants to wait. I think he just wants to relax, and not do a bunch of work. We'll see. :)
